Man Pretends to be Police Superintendent Arrested in Nakaseke

NAKASEKE – Police in Nakaseke District are currently investigating an impersonation case that transpired on Friday, September 1, 2023, around 3:30 Pm at the Semuto traffic checkpoint in Kikondo Zone, Nakaseke District.

The impersonator in question has been identified as Atwiine Allan, a 33-year-old male, residing in Busabala Zone, Makindaye Division, Kampala District.

Initial findings indicate that on the aforementioned date and time, Atwiine Allan arrived at the checkpoint and falsely presented himself as a police officer, specifically claiming to hold the rank of Superintendent of Police attached to Katwe Division in Kampala Metropolitan.

However, the Officer in Charge of Traffic in Semuto became suspicious and conducted a thorough interrogation, during which Atwiine Allan eventually confessed to his impersonation.

This admission led to his arrest, and a formal case of impersonation was registered.

ASP TwineAmazima Sam, the Savannah Region Police spokesperson, has stated that investigations into this matter are currently underway.

He has also urged the public to refrain from impersonating police officers, emphasizing that such actions carry severe penalties.
