Marital Strife: Man Hacks Wife in Ssembabule

SSEMBABULE – Police in Ssembabule district have apprehended Kyeyune Aloysius, a 66-year-old resident of Kyambogo village in Nyabitanga sub-county, on charges of the alleged murder of his wife, Nassazi Glades, 40 years of age.

The tragic incident occurred on August 8th, 2023, around 4:00 pm.

The couple’s relationship had been plagued by toxicity, leading them to sleep in separate rooms. On that ill-fated day, Kyeyune Aloysius reportedly seized a hoe and viciously struck his wife, Nassazi Glades, on the head, resulting in her instantaneous death.

SCP Fred Enanga, the spokesperson for the Uganda Police, revealed that investigations uncovered jealousy as the driving force behind this brutal act. Kyeyune Aloysius allegedly accused his wife of both withholding conjugal rights and engaging in infidelity with other men within their shared marital abode.

Enanga expressed unequivocal condemnation for such acts of violence within marriages, stressing, “The victim met a violent end, a result of a fatal blow to the head with a hoe. We categorically denounce such heinous actions within relationships and the broader community.”
