Police Probes Double Murder in Rubanda

RUBANDA- The territorial police in Rubanda district are investigating circumstances under which two people were allegedly murdered after fighting for a girlfriend

 

The Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate identified the deceased as Osbert Natuhwera 22years and Amoni Kanyesigye 18years old all residents of Nyamiyaga village Rushekye B village, of Karengyeri parish Muko sub county Rubanda district.

 

According to Maate said that on the 27/11/2022 at around 11:00pm, Sofan Bikorwamukama , the deceased Kanyesige Amon  and Ndyomugabe Robert 19years a resident of Rushekye B village, Karengyere parish,  who is now in police custody and others still at large entered into the bar of  Charles of Karengyere trading center and found there the first victim the deceased Osbert Natuhwera and stabbed him to coma allegedly on issues of a girl friend.

 

The deceased Osbert was then rushed to Karengyere drug shop for first aid where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

 

ASP Maate told our reporter that the angry mob hunted for the assailants and got Kanyesigye Amon alias Kyarenga and his other colleague in the center and were beaten to coma and were rushed to Mutolere hospital in Kisoro where Kanyesige Amon died on arrival while the colleague whose particulars are yet unknown, is still alive.

 

The area chairman LC1 of Karengyeri centre Kwizera Katasha,informed the  police of Muko rushed to the scene, documented both scenes and Post-mortem was done and that’s when one suspect by the names of Ndyomugabe Robert was arrested to help police in the investigations.

 

The case of double murder was registered at Rubanda Central Police station under reference number CRB 448/2022 while the Inquiries still ongoing.
