RUBANDA – Police in South Western Uganda’s Rubanda District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a 22-year-old man in Hamurwa Sub County.
The deceased, identified as Aloysius Arinanye, was a resident of Bugandara, specifically Igomanda parish in Hamurwa sub county, Rubanda district. His lifeless body was discovered this morning at approximately 7:00 AM, lying along Bugandara Mukashekya road near the road junction.
According to Asp Elly Maate, the Police spokesperson for the Kigezi region, the discovery was made by John Akankwasa, a 50-year-old individual, as he was on his way to the garden. Akankwasa promptly informed the deceased’s relatives, including the area chairperson Adonia Kanzeyo, who in turn notified the police.
Maate explained that the crime scene was thoroughly examined and documented by D/SP Arinaiwe Frank, a district Crime Investigation Department (CID) officer, and his team.
Following this, a postmortem examination was conducted, and the deceased’s body was subsequently released to the family for burial. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Maate disclosed that the last known sighting of the deceased was at a bar in Mukashekye Trading Centre around 8:00 PM, a location significantly distant from his home.
