RWAMPARA – Police in Rwampara District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of 18-year-old Besisira Davis, a student at Rwampara Vocational Secondary School.
The resided in Bushenyi cell, Nyakabare Parish, Rugando sub-county.It is alleged that on the 9th of September 2023, the deceased was entrusted with 640,000/= shillings to pay for his school fees.
However, instead of using the funds for that purpose, he went into hiding at his aunt’s residence. His parents eventually located him during the night and subjected him to physical abuse until morning.
Fortunately, the area councillor intervened and rescued him. He was subsequently returned to school, but his condition deteriorated.
On the 23rd of September 2023, he was rushed to Kinoni Health IV at 02:00 AM, where he was declared dead at 04:00 AM.
Samson Kasasira, the spokesperson for the Rwizi region Police, has confirmed that the deceased’s body has been transported to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.
The father has been taken into custody to aid in the ongoing investigations.
