Police in Rukungiri District have launched investigations into the death of a 59-year-old man whose body was found inside his home in Nyakagyeme Sub-county.
The deceased has been identified as Odongo David, a resident of Kasoroza Cell, Kigoga Parish in Rukungiri District.
According to the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime, Odongo was last seen at around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday as he headed to the nearby Kasoroza Trading Centre.
On Wednesday morning, residents found him lying helpless inside his house and alerted the authorities.
SP Tumushime said that police officers responded to the scene, documented the evidence, and conveyed the body to the mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
He noted that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
He appealed to members of the public with any information that could assist the investigation to report to the nearest police station.
