Uganda Police Spokesperson, Rusoke Kituuma, on Monday identified the suspects as Ahimbisibwe Naboth, 51, and Ntoreine Reagan, 19, both residents of Kamurinda Cell, Runyinya Parish, Kigarama Sub County.
According to police reports, on the night of January 31, 2025, around 9:00 PM, Ntoreine Reagan had a quarrel with his wife, Namaganda Mariam, which escalated into a physical altercation.
During the incident, Mariam fled to a neighbor’s house for safety, leaving their three-month-old baby asleep in bed.
When she returned the following morning, she found the baby dead.
The infant’s body was transported to Kabwohe Health Centre IV Mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
“We strongly condemn the act of targeting an innocent infant,” Rusoke stated.
Investigations are ongoing as police continue to question the suspects.
