A 26-year-old man, identified as Hassan Mwijuke of Gapfurizo Village, Karambi Parish in Nyarubuye Sub County, has reportedly been shot dead in Kisoro District.
Mwijuke is alleged to have stolen a motorcycle from Kanungu District and had been in hiding since the theft.
According to eyewitnesses, including Pastor Evalyst of Gasave Pentecostal Assemblies of God, gunshots were heard near the church where Mwijuke was attempting to escape arrest.

He was reportedly shot in the head by an armed police officer. Police from Kisoro Central visited the scene, and Mwijuke’s body was taken to Kisoro Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem.
As of press time, police had not issued an official statement on the incident.
