KABALE – Police in Kabale District are actively pursuing suspects accused of defiling a 13-year-old girl.
The individuals, identified as Dan and Akim, both adult males from Rushaki cell in Southern division, Kabale municipality, allegedly assaulted and engaged in sexual activity with the victim in a bush around 7:00 PM on 21/10/2023.
Following the incident, the perpetrators reportedly cautioned the victim against disclosing the matter, threatening harm if she did so.
Despite the warning, the girl informed her mother, who promptly reported the case to Kabale Central Police Station.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, noting that the crime scene had not been visited as of yesterday, as the complainant had not guided the police to the location.
Maate informed our reporter that statements from relevant witnesses were collected, and the victim underwent examination.
The suspects, currently evading arrest, are actively being pursued to ensure they face legal consequences.
