Over 800 struggling farmers in Mujunju Parish, Kibiito Sub County, Bunyangabu District have received a lifeline after Raising the Village-Uganda, a civil society organization operating in the Rwenzori sub-region, donated ten tonnes of Irish potato seedlings.
While addressing the farmers at St. Mujunju Catholic Church, the project manager, Johnson Marahi, urged beneficiaries to put the donation to proper use by adopting improved farming methods such as mulching, pruning, and terracing.
He also encouraged the community to embrace a culture of saving and hard work in order to achieve sustainable development.

NRM Political aspirant for the Bunyangabu District Woman MP seat, Macklin Kabugho, commended the initiative, saying the seedlings would not only enhance household incomes but also strengthen food security once plans for a ready market materialize.
