The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira, has asked Christians to live as pilgrims of hope by building their lives on continuous and steadfast prayer.
Bishop Rubaramira made the call on Sunday while confirming 442 Confirmants into the Catholic Faith during a solem Mass at Christ the King Parish in Kabale Municipality.
Drawing inspiration from the Gospel of Luke 18:1-8, he emphasized that prayer should not be an occasional act but a constant way of life. He stressed that believers must remain committed to prayer even when answers seem delayed, trusting that God listens and responds in His own perfect timing.
Bishop Rubaramira outlined that the parable of the persistent widow teaches believers not to lose heart in difficult moments. He said that Persistence in prayer is a powerful demonstration of faith, proving reliance on God rather than on human understanding.
He reminded the faithful that God is not like the unjust judge in the scripture. While the widow’s persistence moved a reluctant man to act, God is loving and just, and will respond even more readily to His people when they approach Him with faith and trust.
He called on Christians to strengthen one another in their prayer journeys, remain united in hope, and be ready for the Second Coming of Christ by maintaining a faithful and consistent prayer life.
He also urged Christians to embrace income-generating and agricultural projects such as poultry, vegetable growing, and mixed farming to promote self-sustainability.
He asked parents to guide their children in establishing small personal projects and to nurture a culture of creativity and hard work among the youth.

She encouraged Christians to fully embrace the programs, explaining that they enable families to meet essential needs such as school fees, healthcare, and other daily expenses.
