Bobi Wine Fulfills Promise, Donates Water Harvesting Tank to Batwa Community in Kisoro

KISORO: The National Unity Platform party president, H.E. Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine has fulfilled his promise of donating a water harvesting tank to the Batwa community in Mperwe village, Gisorora Parish, Nyakabande Sub County.

On June 7, 2024, His Excellency Kyagulanyi visited Kisoro for a tourism trip and also visited the Mperwe Batwa community, where he learned about the water shortage in the area.

In an interview with our Reporter, Kyagulanyi noted that the party would continue helping the Batwa community and sharing the little they have.

Meanwhile, David Lubongoya, the General Secretary of the party, disclosed that during the president’s visit to the area, he discovered the water shortage problem and promised to provide a water harvesting tank, which was delivered on Saturday. Lubongoya further noted that the party would continue supporting the Batwa.

Nsibomana Laban, the Kisoro District National Unity Platform party chairperson, commended the party president and the secretary for fulfilling the promise, stating that many people make promises to the Batwa community but do not fulfill them.

Sebasole Wilson, the Mperwe Batwa community chairperson, applauded the National Unity Platform party leaders for providing the water harvesting tank. He mentioned that to get water in Mperwe village, they have to go to Kigezi, which is a long distance from their homes.
