CDF appoints new Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security

According to Colonel Chris Magezi Acting Director Defence Public Information (DDPI), the changes take immediate effect.

The Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has appointed the Mountain Infantry Division Commander Major General Richard Otto as the new Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security (CDIS) of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces.

The outgoing CDIS Major General James Birungi replaces Major General Otto as the new Mountain Infantry Division Commander based in Fort Portal.

The Mountain Infantry Division Commander also serves as the Joint Task Force Commander of UPDF troops under Operation Shujaa in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Acting Director Defence Public Information (DDPI), the changes take immediate effect.

Colonel Magezi congratulated the General officers on their new appointments and wishes them good luck in their future endeavors.
