APAC: The national recruitment exercise for candidates from Kwania and Apac districts officially commenced at the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing in Apac District on Thursday.
This significant event is a collaborative effort between the vetting team from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and regional leaders from both districts.
The goal of this recruitment drive is to identify and select potential candidates for training to join the UPDF. However, the day was not without challenges.
Among the shortlisted candidates, three from Apac district and two from Kwania district were found to possess fake UCE certificates. These individuals were immediately handed over to their respective District Internal Security Officers for further investigation.

Following preliminary vetting, candidates underwent a physical fitness test, which included a 4-kilometer run to assess their physical capabilities. All candidates successfully completed the run, demonstrating their physical fitness.
In addition to the physical fitness test, candidates are also undergoing rigorous medical examinations to ensure that only the most suitable and capable individuals are recruited. This step is crucial in preparing them for the demanding tasks ahead.
As the day progressed, the vetting team will carefully assess and determine the finalists from each district based on the allotted quotas. This process ensures fairness and transparency, providing equal opportunities to all shortlisted candidates.
