KALANGALA: A Uganda Police officer, identified as D/Sgt Michael Mujasi, and two civilians have died following a devastating hailstorm that struck Kalangala District Police at Bugala Island on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at around 7:21 a.m.
The storm, which originated from the eastern side of Kalangala, caused extensive damage to the police barracks, destroying nearly all officers’ accommodations and tearing off part of the station’s administrative roof.

SP Kasirye stated that the injured have been rushed to Kalangala Health Center IV for medical attention, while the bodies of the deceased have been retrieved and taken to Kalangala Hospital mortuary.
Rescue efforts are currently underway.
