NTUNGAMO: The Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni, has urged the senior members of the NRM Party in Ntungamo District to be examples and a source of inspiration to the younger members of the Movement.

She advised them to not only demonstrate responsibility when in government but also to take it upon themselves as a civic duty to provide constructive guidance to their households and the community.

“Together, let us build a united, peaceful Ntungamo District with people who look out for each other and fight corruption and all factors that deter development,” she said.

“As we move forward to build a united, peaceful Ntungamo District, let’s encourage the older generation in the NRM Party to remain active in providing guidance to the younger generations in their communities,” she stated.

She added, “Old age is a gift from God, carrying the purpose of teaching, training, and modeling God’s ways to the younger generations. It is our responsibility to ensure that the fear of God is instilled in the hearts of the younger generation. When we fail in this duty, we allow corruption to seep into our society.”

According to her, it is crucial to break the culture of silence and speak up when something is not right. She drew inspiration from Mzee’s continued refusal to remain silent in the face of injustice since the 1960s.

“As long as we have the breath of God within us, we must not remain silent when we see wrong,” she remarked.

“There will be a Day of Accountability, and it is our divine responsibility to speak out and guide the younger generation,” she concluded.
