The Judiciary has officially handed over the site for the construction of the Rubuguri Magistrate’s Court, marking a significant milestone in extending justice services closer to the people of Kisoro District.
The handover ceremony, held over the weekend, was attended by the Chief Magistrate of Kisoro, the Mayor and Town Clerk of Rubuguri Town Council, the Director of Sparks Technical Services (the contracting firm), the Judiciary’s Senior Regional Engineer, Solomon Sserukwaya, and the Judiciary Site Engineer.
During the event, Rubuguri Town Council officials expressed their appreciation to the Judiciary for initiating the project and pledged full support, including close supervision to ensure quality work and timely completion.
The contractor, Sparks Technical Services, thanked the Judiciary for entrusting them with the project and committed to delivering it within the agreed timeline, without compromising on standards.
In a symbolic gesture, the Judiciary’s Regional Engineer handed the building plans to the Chief Magistrate, who then passed them on to the Mayor. The Mayor formally handed them over to the contractor, who pledged to commence construction immediately.
The new court facility is expected to greatly improve access to justice in Rubuguri and neighboring communities, reinforcing the Judiciary’s mission to bring justice services closer to all Ugandans.
