KAMPALA – Half of the Kampala-Masaka road has been closed due to a collapse at the Busega roundabout section.

The Community Liaison Officer for the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, SP Michael Kananura, has stated that traffic police, in collaboration with UNRA Engineers, are currently evaluating the extent of the damage.

“The Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety informs the general public that the road between Busega roundabout and Kyengera has partially caved in, and the traffic police, along with UNRA Engineers, are assessing the damage,” stated SP Kananura.

Motorists heading towards Masaka are advised to take alternative routes to avoid congestion. They can use Nakawuka Road at Natete Traffic lights or Mityana road until the Uganda National Roads Authority provides further guidance.
