KABALE – Boda Boda Cyclists in Kabale District have expressed their appreciation for the outgoing District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police (SP) Abel Ruganza, for his prompt response to their calls during crime management.

In the recent Police transfers, SP Ruganza has been reassigned to Lira City, and Joseph Bakaleke, formerly the DPC of Lira City, has taken over as the new Kabale DPC. The official handover ceremony took place at the Kabale Central Police Station, attended by prominent Police officials from the Kigezi region and Kabale District.

During the ceremony, a group of Boda Boda cyclists from Kabale town gathered outside to bid farewell to Ruganza. They accompanied him in a commendable motorcycle procession from the C.P.S to his residence in Kigongi Cell at the Police Barracks.

During his address to the media, SP Ruganza reflected on the challenges he faced during his two and a half years in Kabale. He highlighted the surge in murders and aggravated robberies between May and June 2023 as a significant hurdle. Ruganza credited the apprehension of all the culprits to the cooperation from the community, especially the Ghetto leaders of Kabale Town and the Boda Boda Cyclists.
