Kabale Gets Rehabilitation Center to Empower Children with Disabilities

This call was made during the inauguration of a new home for Cherished and Redeemed Kabale, a rehabilitation center for children with various disabilities. The center is located in Rwamukundi Cell, Central Division, Kabale District.

Ronald Ian Mugisha, the Deputy Speaker of Kabale District Local Government, highlighted that some parents tend to neglect their children with disabilities, often keeping them at home and depriving them of life’s opportunities.

The founders of the center, Cornelia Girnet and Justus Buhisya, a senior occupational therapist at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, noted that their vision was inspired by the struggles of many children with disabilities in the Kigezi sub-region to access quality living standards.

Local leaders, including Counsel Eliab Mporera, Mackline Batware, LC3 Chairman Southern Division, and Sam Arineitwe, the LC3 Chairman for Central Division in Kabale Municipality, praised the project, stating that it would complement government efforts to support vulnerable groups.
