Kabale Regional Referral Hospital is currently holding the decomposing body of an unidentified male adult, estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old. The body was discovered in Kabale’s Northern Division, within Kabale Municipality.
According to a police statement, the body was found on the morning of Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at around 7:00 AM in Pidda Cell, Bugongi Ward, Northern Division. The deceased is described as having a dark complexion.

A team of homicide detectives, led by the district CID officer, visited the scene. It was examined, documented, and statements were recorded from relevant witnesses. The body was then transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said that despite efforts, no one has come forward to identify the deceased. He appealed to the public to visit the hospital mortuary in hopes that someone might recognize the body and arrange for a proper burial.
Maate further urged anyone with information that could shed light on the man’s death to come forward and assist in the investigation.
