The Kabale District Assistant NRM Registrar, Medard Ntegyereize, has assured both contestants and voters that security and election material distribution are fully secured ahead of tomorrow’s LCIII chairperson and councilor elections.

Addressing the media on Wednesday evening at the NRM offices in Kabale Municipality, Ntegyereize said sub county registrars have already received all election materials, which will be distributed to village registrars early tomorrow morning.

“We are confident about security arrangements, and all materials are ready for distribution,” he stated.

He noted that the NRM office, together with security officials led by Kabale District RDC, Retired Major Katamba Godfrey, held a meeting to ensure peaceful elections.

“Each sub county will have adequate security personnel. In the past, election violence was caused by insecurity. This time, we are well-prepared to conduct the most peaceful elections ever,” He said.

He also called on registrars to uphold integrity and avoid practices such as vote rigging, intimidation, and threats, which often lead to election violence.

Meanwhile, in Kisoro, the District NRM Registrar, Mujambere Tadeo, warned candidates against bribing registrars.

Mujambere revealed that some sub-county and town council aspirants had attempted to bribe registrars; a move he said undermines the integrity of the official voters’ register.

“No one will be allowed to vote unless their name is verified in the voters’ register,” Mujambere stressed, adding that polling officials will receive thorough training to ensure a smooth and transparent process.

He urged voters to arrive early at polling stations for verification and cautioned the public against chaos, violence, or threats, warning that such acts could lead to the suspension or nullification of results.
