Kabale University is set to host the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Career Expo 2026, a nationwide initiative aimed at preparing students and young professionals for the rapidly evolving world of work.
Held under the theme “Man or Machine: Exploring AI’s Impact on Careers,” this year’s expo will focus on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in shaping industries, redefining skills, and creating new career pathways. The event is scheduled for Tuesday next week at Kikungiri Church Hall, Kabale University.
According to Godfrey Joseph Sempungu, the University’s Principal Communications and Branding Officer, the expo goes beyond a conventional career fair by equipping participants with practical tools, insights, and networks needed to thrive in an AI-driven economy.
Participants will engage with industry leaders, AI practitioners, career strategists, and hiring professionals who are actively navigating technological change. Discussions will highlight how AI is not only automating routine tasks but also increasing demand for human-centered skills such as critical thinking, creativity, adaptability, and emotional intelligence.
Sempungu noted that the expo will also offer strategic career guidance, helping students understand how to position themselves for future opportunities, build relevant competencies, and align their academic training with market demands.
Attendees are expected to gain exposure to emerging career trends, workplace expectations, and practical approaches to leveraging AI as a tool for career growth rather than a threat.
As part of a broader national outreach programme, the NSSF Career Expo is being conducted across multiple universities, equipping thousands of students with essential employability skills, financial literacy, and insights into career planning and entrepreneurship.
Students have been encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to interact with leading professionals, expand their networks, and gain clarity on navigating the future of work.
