Police in Kanungu District have launched investigations into the suspected murder of a 28-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel Emimex, alias Boy, a resident of Kayenje Cell, Nyarurambi Sub-county.
According to police, Emimex’s body was discovered on the morning of Saturday, October 25, 2025, floating on the waters of River Mpangango by children who had gone to fetch water.
Police officers promptly responded to the scene, which was visited, processed, and documented.
A postmortem examination conducted by a medical officer from Kambuga Hospital revealed that the deceased had a fractured skull, suggesting that he might have been killed and his body dumped in the river to conceal the crime.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson says that the body has since been handed over to the relatives for burial, while investigations continue to identify and apprehend the suspects behind the killing.
