The display of the National Voters Register and special interest group registers in Kisoro District registered a low turnout on the first day of the exercise, as preparations for the 2026 general elections continue.

The exercise for the National Voters Register started on April 25, 2025, and will run until May 15, 2025. Meanwhile, the display of registers for special interest groups will continue until May 8, 2025.

By 3:00 PM on Friday, several polling stations in Kisoro Municipality reported low activity. At Shaaza Polling Station, no voter had been attended to.

At New Park Polling Station, 25 voters had turned up, while over 30 voters had been attended to at Mayors Garden Polling Station.

Display officers at Shaaza, Mayors Garden, and New Park polling stations attributed the low turnout to limited mobilization efforts.
