  • Minister Musasizi urged Rubanda residents to use Kigezi’s limited land efficiently by embracing commercial agriculture with “Ekibaro” to eradicate poverty.

RUBANDA: The Minister of Finance (General Duties), Hon. Henry Musasizi, has called on farmers in Rubanda District to create wealth through commercial agriculture, emphasizing the importance of “Ekibaro” (Calculation) in farming.

Addressing Christians on Sunday as the Chief Guest at the celebration of 54 years of Kakore Rugambwa Parish in Rubanda District, Minister Musasizi underscored the need for calculated farming to maximize returns. The event also aimed to raise funds for the completion of a multi-million commercial building that will generate income to support various church development projects.

The Minister’s message resonated with a testimony from Yusitina Ahimbisibwe, a resident of Kerere in Hamurwa Sub County who shared how Minister Musasizi visited her garden and offered invaluable advice on creating wealth through commercial agriculture, despite her limited land.

“While I was working near Minister Musasizi’s farm, he visited me and shared insights on how to improve my farming using ‘Ekibaro’ (calculation). Since following his advice, I have seen remarkable changes. I can now provide for my family, sell my produce, and pay school fees for my children,” Ahimbisibwe expressed.

Minister Musasizi urged Rubanda residents to use Kigezi’s limited land efficiently by embracing commercial agriculture with “Ekibaro” to eradicate poverty. He encouraged farmers to apply this approach to maximize their profits and improve their livelihoods.
