RUBANDA: Minister of Finance (General Duties) Henry Musasizi has rallied residents in Rubanda District to avoid encroaching on waterways to prevent flooding ahead of the upcoming rainy season.

During a visit to Kyokyezo Parish in Nyamweru Sub County, where he was assessing the progress of the Kyokyezo-Butambi road construction earlier this month, Minister Musasizi, who also represents Rubanda East as a legislator, emphasized the importance of preparation due to the area’s challenging terrain. He highlighted the need for residents to be vigilant and take preventive measures against potential floods.

Minister Musasizi expressed concern after observing residents clearing land to build homes on steep slopes. He urged them to adhere to flood precautionary measures and to cease encroachment on water pathways. He also advised residents to relocate from these pathways before the rainy season begins.
