However, addressing concerns about the inconvenience faced by locals, Billy Basulwa, the District Registration Officer of NIRA-Kabale, disclosed this development during a workshop for district stakeholders from the Kigezi sub-region, convened at Bunyonyi Safaris Resort in Kabale district.
Basulwa elaborated that the Kabale NIRA office had been inundated with complaints from residents and leaders of Rubanda and Rukiga districts, who had to embark on lengthy journeys to access NIRA services, incurring substantial expenses in the process. He recommended that individuals seeking NIRA services should currently visit the Electoral Commission offices at the district headquarters.
Basulwa assured that NIRA is actively working towards establishing independent offices within the aforementioned districts, thereby alleviating the inconvenience faced by residents.
