KASESE: Police in Kasese District are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire outbreak that left one person dead and two others seriously injured.
SP Nelson Tumushime, the Police Spokesperson for the Rwenzori East Region, identified the deceased as 39-year-old Musabaho Mugisha Adams. The injured were identified as Masika Razia Amis, aged 53, and Kirabo Rayat Musoki, aged 9.
According to Tumushime, the fire broke out in a residential house at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday in Kizungu Cell, Nyakasanga II Ward, Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality. The blaze resulted in one death, two injuries, and severe damage to household items, which are yet to be valued.
Tumushime noted that the fire started in the sitting room and quickly spread to other parts of the house. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, as the scene was tampered with by the community before the arrival of the Fire and Rescue Services Department.
