KASESE: Over 40 houses were destroyed on Wednesday evening by heavy rains accompanied by strong winds in Katwe-Kabatooro Town Council, Busongora County South, Kasese District.

The disaster occurred at around 6 p.m., leaving most families in the area homeless.

Residents reported that flying iron sheets caused by the violent winds injured several people, who are now receiving medical attention in the area.

David Isimbwa, a Busongora County South parliamentary hopeful, visited the affected families to express his sympathy. He urged the District Disaster Committee to assess the damage and compile a report to be forwarded to higher authorities for immediate assistance.
