KISORO: A section of parents from Kisoro District have reacted with mixed feelings to Education and Sports Minister Janet Museveni’s suggestion that parents pack at least two eggs and a bottle of milk for their school-going children.

The First Lady made the appeal on Sunday during the closing of the Buganda Mothers Union 2024 conference in Luweero, where she was accompanied by President Museveni. She emphasized that mothers could play a key role in ensuring their children have nutritious lunches as they head to school.

However, Vicent Mushakambo, Chairman of the Kisoro District Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and a parent, criticized the suggestion, arguing that it demonstrates a disconnect from the economic hardships many Ugandans face. He added that the current leadership is living a deceptive lifestyle, leaving many citizens unable to afford basic necessities like food.
