Police in Kigezi Region have identified the woman whose body was discovered inside an unfinished house in Rubanda District and handed it over to her family for burial.
The deceased was identified by relatives as Catherine Atuhaire, according to Kigezi Region Police spokesperson SP Nelson Tumushime.
The body was found dumped inside an unfinished house in Rwenkurijo Cell, Muyange Ward, in Babaare Town Council.
Police said the body has since been released to the family for a decent burial after relatives positively identified the deceased.
“We thank members of the public for the information that led to the identification of the deceased,” SP Tumushime said in a statement issued on Friday.
Police condemned the killing and assured the public that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
“We condemn acts of homicide in the region and assure the public that all those involved will face the full force of the law,” SP Tumushime said.
