Police in Rubirizi District are searching for the driver of a Scania truck, registration number T951B/T818AS, who fled the scene after fatally knocking down a 48-year-old motorcyclist along the Kasese–Mbarara road.
The deceased has been identified as Innocent Kadenge, a resident of Kyenzanza in Kirugu Sub-county, Rubirizi District. He was killed on Monday at around 8:00 p.m. while riding his Bajaj Boxer motorcycle from Kasese toward Kyambura.
Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident on Tuesday, stating that the truck driver fled immediately after the collision.
Tumusiime said a team of investigators led by IP Twebaze visited the scene, transported the body to Rugazi Health Centre IV mortuary, and impounded the motorcycle for further inspection.
As of press time, the Scania truck remained at the scene, awaiting towing.
