KABALE: The Deputy Resident Commissioner of Sheema District, Sam Evidence Orikunda Twikirize has rallied the public to actively participate in the upcoming 6th National Population and Housing Census, slated to commence on May 10, 2024.
This call to action was made yesterday during the Easter service led by the esteemed Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rugarama, Kigezi, located in the Northern Division of Kabale Municipality.
President Museveni, in December of the previous year, inaugurated the census in Kampala, Uganda’s capital, emphasizing its crucial role in facilitating improved governmental planning for its citizens.
Echoing the sentiments of President Museveni, Deputy Commissioner Orikunda urged Christians to actively participate in the forthcoming census, stressing the importance of each Ugandan being accurately counted. He implored them not to overlook this opportunity to contribute to their nation’s future by ensuring their participation.
