Traffic Offender Fined in Kasese as Police Enforce Amended Road Safety Act

According to SP Onono George, the Regional Traffic Officer for Rwenzori East, any driver who violates Code 6 is liable to a fine of UGX 200,000, as stipulated in the amended Road and Safety Act.

Police in Kasese District have arrested and fined a driver, identified as Joseph Ziryawulamu, for operating a motor vehicle in a manner that endangered other road users, a violation of Code 6 under the amended Road and Safety Act.

Ziryawulamu was intercepted on Saturday while driving a motor vehicle with registration number UAN 422X en route from Kampala to Bwera–Mpondwe Border Town in Kasese District.

According to SP Onono George, the Regional Traffic Officer for Rwenzori East, any driver who violates Code 6 is liable to a fine of UGX 200,000, as stipulated in the amended Road and Safety Act.

SP Nelson Tumushime, the Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East Region, urged all road users including drivers, motorists, and pedestrians to strictly observe traffic and road safety regulations.
