RUBANDA: Authorities in Rubanda and Kabale Districts are struggling to secure suitable venues for conducting transitional exams for Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) failures as the old curriculum phases out.
Recently, the Ministry of Education and Sports directed district education officers nationwide to identify convenient locations within their districts for administering transitional exams for UCE failures as schools transition to the new curriculum.
Francis Serununi, the Rubanda District Education Officer, and Moses Tumwijukye Bwengye, the Kabale District Education Officer acknowledged that they are still searching for suitable venues to host the exams. Serununi mentioned that registration is already underway and will close at the end of this month.
He also disclosed that the exams will take place in June and July this year, emphasizing that this might be the final opportunity for those in need of a UCE certificate.
