KABALE: Parents in Kiyora, Northern division Kabale municipality are stranded with their children at home due to lack of school fees.
Parents says that, despite working tireless, they have failed raise money for school fees and other requirements. They added that food prices have hiked and the little money they get is used to buy food for their families.
Fibiath Kibesirwa a mother of three a resident of the same area who depends on stone quarrying says that they don’t have school fees and her children have also joined her in stone quarrying so as they can raise school fees hence being left behind in learning.
Speaking to our reporter a pupil in P.4 at kacwekano primary school who likes anonymity says that he did not go to school because he had no school fees and money to buy scholastic materials like books. He asked leaders and well-wishers to assist him with school fees and books such that he can go to school
Mucunguzi Isaac Rushonga the Kabale northern division chairman LC3 calls upon parents to send their children to school such that they can learn how to read and write.
