Kabale University has rolled out its Innovation Booster Boot Camp for the 2025/2026 academic year, a five-day intensive programme designed to transform research ideas into practical, market-ready solutions.

The boot camp, which kicked off on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the MTN Spark Hub, is hosted by the Directorate of Research and Grants and has attracted more than 150 student and staff innovators. Participants are being equipped with skills to refine their concepts into structured, market-oriented solutions using tools such as the Business Model Canvas, under expert guidance.

Speaking at the launch, Senior Research Grants Administrator Jacqueline Akello said the initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic research and commercialization, driving socio-economic transformation through job creation and enterprise development.

She noted that the programme reflects the university’s renewed focus on innovation alongside research, in line with the national “Buy Uganda, Build Uganda” agenda.
