NEWS – A third-year student at Kabale University in South Western Uganda, Kabale District has tragically passed away on Christmas Eve.
The deceased, identified as Doreen Ainembabazi, was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Kabale University, as reported by her friends.
A close classmate revealed that the last encounter with Doreen was on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Kamukira Health Center IV in critical condition within the Southern Division of Kabale Municipality.
“When I saw her last on Wednesday at Kamukira Health Center IV, she was battling a severe headache and couldn’t speak,” shared a friend of the deceased anonymously on Sunday morning.
This marks the second death recorded by the University within a month. On Friday, December 8, 2023, the student community and Kabale University management were shocked by the untimely demise of Audrey Nayebare, a student in the Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Sciences program.
She was laid to rest at her ancestral home in Kicwamba Parish, Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri district. Audrey was an alumna of Kashenyi Secondary School in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri district.
As of press time, Doreen’s friends were still grappling with grief, sharing photos of the deceased on social media, reminiscing about the good times spent together at the University.
The University has not yet provided a statement on the matter.
