RUBANDA: In a heartfelt act of generosity, Rubanda West County MP hopeful Bruce Kabasa Baraba has stepped up to support Nchundura Primary School in Karengyeri, Muko Sub-County, by donating 100 iron sheets to improve its deteriorating infrastructure.
For years, students and teachers at the school have struggled with leaking roofs, especially during the rainy season, making learning conditions difficult. But on Tuesday, relief finally arrived, bringing joy and hope to the entire school community.
During the handover ceremony, Simon Barigye, Chairperson of the School’s Construction Committee, expressed deep gratitude for Kabasa’s quick response to their plight.
“The poor state of our classrooms has been a major challenge. When it rains, students have to endure leaking roofs, disrupting their learning. But now, with this donation, we can provide them with a better environment,” Barigye said.
He recalled how, during a recent visit, he shared the school’s struggles with Kabasa, who immediately pledged his support. True to his word, just days later, the iron sheets arrived— a game-changer for the school.
Nchundura Primary School’s headteacher, Justus Alleluya, also praised Kabaasa for his dedication to improving education in Rubanda West.
“Education is the key to success, and having good facilities makes a huge difference. We truly appreciate Kabaasa’s generosity and vision for the future of our children,” he said.
Addressing the pupils, Kabasa encouraged them to stay focused on their studies, regardless of their background or the challenges they face.
“It doesn’t matter which school you attend—if you have the opportunity to study, God can uplift you anytime. Some of us studied in unrecognized schools, but with determination and discipline, we have been able to achieve a few things,” Kabasa said.
He urged students to embrace education, stay disciplined, and uphold strong moral values, reminding them that their future success lies in their hands.
With this generous donation, Kabasa has not only provided a physical transformation for Nchundura Primary School but also inspired hope in the next generation of leaders.
