Youth delegates from Kabale District have unanimously endorsed Ezra Byakutangaza as their preferred candidate for the position of Western Youth Member of Parliament.
The endorsement took place on Saturday during a youth leaders’ meeting held at Pearl Hotel in the Central Division of Kabale Municipality.
The delegates, led by Twesigomwe Trust, Vice Chairperson for Kabale District, and Niwaha Martin, Chairperson for Youth in Northern Division, Kabale Municipality, fronted Byakutangaza as a visionary leader capable of championing socio-economic transformation for youth across the Western region.
They cited his commitment to the core principles of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), including Pan-Africanism, Patriotism, Democracy and Accountability.
In his remarks, Byakutangaza highlighted his strong track record in youth leadership as the foundation for his bid.
“My experience in leadership at various levels positions me as the best candidate to represent and advocate for the youth in Western Uganda,” he said.
Byakutangaza’s leadership journey includes serving as Speaker at Makerere University (2019–2021), President of the Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA) from 2020–2021 and as a UNSA Representative to the National Youth Council since 2021.
He currently serves as the LC3 Youth Chairperson for Masindi Port Sub-county in Kiryandongo District.
