A seven-year-old girl diagnosed with a heart condition is in urgent need of UGX 20 million to travel to India for specialised treatment.
Edvine Musanabera, a resident of Rwankoni Village in Nyakabingo Parish, Chahi Sub- County, Bufumbira South Constituency in Kisoro District, has battled health complications since birth.
She was born prematurely at Kisoro Hospital and later referred to Potter’s Village for further medical care. Her condition worsened over time, leading to a diagnosis of heart disease.
Her mother, Lydia Munezero, says the family has exhausted all available resources in a desperate effort to save her life. They sold their belongings to finance multiple visits to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where doctors recommended further treatment in India.
Munezero explains that despite spending millions of shillings on medical care and medication, her daughter’s condition requires advanced treatment that is not readily available locally. She is now appealing to well-wishers for financial support to raise the required UGX 20 million.
“I have done everything I can, but the situation is overwhelming,” Munezero said. “I have other children to care for and we are struggling even with school fees. I kindly ask anyone who can help to support my daughter’s treatment.”
Munezero further says that the family continues to rely on support from well-wishers as they make frequent visits to Mulago Hospital for ongoing care.
