The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) 3 Infantry Division Commander, Brigadier General Michael Walaka Hyeroba, has urged troops deployed under Operation Usalama Kwa Wote in the Karamoja Sub-region to remain disciplined, vigilant and combat-ready to consolidate the prevailing peace.

He made the call on Sunday during an operational tour of formations under the 407 Brigade, 405 Brigade, Usalama 1 and Usalama 2 operations.

“My visits to all the units are part of my responsibility as a commander to know where my officers and men are, know you physically, and understand the real situation on the ground,” Brig Gen Hyeroba said.

He urged the troops to maintain good civil-military relations, cooperate with sister security agencies in combating cattle rustling and other criminal activities, and uphold the UPDF’s core values of patriotism, loyalty, discipline and courage.
