The Entebbe Chief Magistrates Court has convicted notorious Wakiso-based land grabber Charles Kyagaba on multiple criminal charges, including malicious damage to property, fraudulent procurement of land titles, criminal trespass, assault, and forcible entry.
Kyagaba, alongside several accomplices who are still on the run, had for years allegedly terrorised residents across Wakiso District, particularly in Entebbe Municipality, by fraudulently claiming ownership of their land and properties.
The conviction follows years of complaints and public outcry from affected residents who accused the group of illegal evictions, intimidation, and destruction of property.
Court records indicate that Kyagaba was first arrested in 2022 in a joint operation conducted by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Authorities hailed the conviction as a major breakthrough in the fight against land grabbing and property-related crimes in Wakiso District.
Kyagaba is expected to return to court on May 18, 2026, for sentencing.
