The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, has hailed the founders of Radio Ankole for their unwavering commitment to community empowerment and cultural preservation over the past two decades.

While speaking at Ekijumeero, a grand celebration held at Kyamate Playground in Ntungamo District to mark 20 years of Radio Ankole’s existence, Tayebwa commended the station’s visionaries, including renowned businessman Bob Kabonero and former Minister Hon. Mwesigwa Rukutana, for establishing a media house driven not by profit but by passion to inform, educate, and entertain the public.

“Running a radio station is hardly a profitable venture, but it remains one of the most powerful tools for communication. The founders of Radio Ankole took on this noble task not for financial gain but to serve the people of Ankole,” Tayebwa said.
