The Minister of Finance (General Duties), Hon. Henry Musasizi, has called on voters in Rubanda East Constituency to re-elect him in the upcoming elections, citing his proven track record and continued commitment to the region’s development.
While addressing a gathering at Ruhonwa 2 Primary School in Mukagumira Village on Saturday, Minister Musasizi reaffirmed his dedication to service and his accomplishments since joining Parliament.
“I have worked tirelessly for the development of Rubanda East since I was elected. My consistent representation at the national level and my appointment as a Minister in 2021 are a testament to my hard work and commitment,” he said.
Minister Musasizi urged constituents to remain cautious of new political entrants who lack experience and results to show for it.
“Don’t be swayed by lies and empty promises from newcomers. On July 16th, choose the man already inside, the one working for you and delivering what you need, not the one knocking at the door,” he told the crowd.
Minister Musasizi emphasized that more development is on the way, urging voters to continue trusting him and Rubanda District LC5 Chairman Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba, describing their partnership as still in its early stages of delivering impact.
“You’ve only seen the beginning,” Minister Musasizi said. “For instance, you cried about the Harutenga–Ruhonwa road for years. It was in a terrible state. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to work on it, but I faced opposition within the District. Since Chairman Kasyaba came in, we’ve finally been able to make progress.”
Minister Musasizi recalled the last election when he urged residents not to vote for him unless they also supported Kasyaba for District Chairperson, a statement that stirred media attention at the time.
“People didn’t understand my confidence in him. I had grown up with Kasyaba, we went to the same schools, I knew what he was capable of,” Minister Musasizi explained. “In my second term, I faced a lot of sabotage at the district level. I needed someone who would work with me, not against development. Now, you can see the results, we are moving at a terrific speed.”

Speaking at the same rally, Chairman Kasyaba credited Minister Musasizi for his own success in office.
“Where would we be without him?” Kasyaba remarked, acknowledging Minister Musasizi’s role in mobilizing resources and guiding development efforts.
Kasyaba also announced that Rubanda District had allocated Shs 100 million to Hamurwa Sub-county for the rehabilitation of roads damaged by recent rains, highlighting continued government investment in local infrastructure.
