Police in Kabale are investigating a fire outbreak that destroyed household property worth millions of shillings in Nyangande Cell, Mwanjari Ward, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.
The incident occurred on Sunday, August 16, 2026, when fire reportedly gutted a room before spreading to other parts of the house.
Police Fire and Rescue Services responded to the incident and managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread to neighbouring areas.
No casualties have been reported, while the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are still being investigated.
Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime, confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing.
