Several people, including four civilians and an unspecified number of police officers, were injured in a violent confrontation on Friday evening in Kangole Town Council, Napak District.

The clash broke out after police on patrol reportedly confronted a group engaged in loud music and political campaign activities.

According to Mt. Moroto Regional Police spokesperson ASP Michael Longoli, officers instructed the group to cease the activities, but the crowd became hostile and began pelting stones at them, injuring some officers.

In an attempt to disperse the crowd, police fired warning shots, which unfortunately led to injuries among civilians.

The injured civilians have been identified as:

Elijah Akol – Suffered a soft tissue injury on the left side of the abdomen, suspected to be from a stray bullet.
