NEWS – The Government has made an important announcement regarding the late Archbishop Emeritus of Mbarara Archdiocese, Most Rev. Paul Bakyenga.
After serving as the Archbishop of Mbarara from January 2, 1999, until April 25, 2020, he passed away on Tuesday morning at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.
The news was shared through an official tweet by State House Uganda, the official Twitter account for Uganda’s State House. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has granted an official burial to honor the Archbishop Emeritus, His Grace Paul Bakyenga, recognizing his significant contributions to the country’s development.
To commemorate his life and accomplishments, Bakyenga will be accorded a gun salute during the burial ceremony, which is scheduled to take place at Nyamitanga Cathedral on Sunday.
This gesture symbolizes the nation’s deep respect and appreciation for the late Archbishop’s exceptional dedication and service to the people of Uganda.
