Kabale District has reported notable progress across key sectors in the 2024/2025 financial year, positioning itself as a national development leader despite ongoing social and environmental challenges.

Delivering the State of the District Address during a council session at the District Council Hall on Friday, District Chairperson Nelson Nshangabasheija presented a comprehensive performance report, highlighting major achievements in infrastructure expansion, administrative efficiency, healthcare and environmental conservation.

Kabale’s impressive strides earned it recognition as the 4th best-performing district in Uganda during the national performance assessment. This achievement was further underscored by recent high-profile visits from President Yoweri Museveni, Vice President Jessica Alupo, and other senior government officials, signaling the district’s growing strategic importance in national development.

Looking ahead to the 2025/2026 fiscal year, Nshangabasheija said the district will align its development priorities with Uganda Vision 2040 and the Third National Development Plan (NDP III). The focus areas will include: Agro-industrialization, Tourism and private sector growth, Natural resource management, Urbanization and infrastructure development and Human capital improvement
